Every year, millions are invested in local research in Forsyth County, addressing issues like housing, education, food access, and beyond. However, this research often overlooks the crucial step of involving the community from the start.
This initiative aspires to change this by ensuring that the research that forms the foundation of the We Heal Together Initiative begins with the community, values their experiences, and invites them to co-lead the process.
To make good on this commitment, We Heal Together is working with the Peoples’ Research Council—a new community-led initiative to put people in charge of local research. learn more
Centered in Community
By centering the community in our work, we align research with advocacy and take direction from the community on how to achieve meaningful change. Our goal is to improve peoples’ lives and create a more liberated community with greater autonomy over the issues that impact their lives the most.

Contributing to Our Thriving Community
In order to move the needle and achieve better outcomes, it requires that we work in stronger and more meaningful collaboration with one another. We Heal Together is part of a growing movement called Thriving Together with the purpose of driving our community toward the common north of everyone thriving, no exceptions. Thriving Together is helping build and strengthen networks, aligning our work toward stronger, vital conditions for wellbeing and justice.
